Hardware Diagnostic Lab & Testing Facility

Located at 6 Park Lane in Dawson, Victoria, our purpose-built training facility combines micro-soldering workstations, high-density 415V power distribution, and dielectric immersion testing loops.

Engineered for Hands-On Hardware Mastery

Our facility was established in 2021 specifically to address the severe shortage of practical electronic diagnostic training for Australian computing and mining operators.

We maintain an isolated 50kW test grid with calibrated FLIR thermal cameras, Rigol 100MHz digital storage oscilloscopes, Hakko hot-air rework systems, and custom Linux diagnostic test fixtures for Bitmain, MicroBT, and Whatsminer hardware.

Specialized Diagnostic Workstations

1. Micro-Soldering & Rework Bench

Each student station includes a 45x continuous zoom stereomicroscope with LED ring light, Hakko FX-951 soldering station, digital hot-air pencil, magnetic PCB holder, and preheating table.

2. Signal Probing & Test Fixtures

Dedicated test fixtures running custom Linux diagnostic kernels to interrogate hashboards via UART. High-speed logic analyzers allow signal decoding on CLK, TX, RX, and RST lines.

3. Immersion Loop & Dry Cooler Rig

A fully operational clear-acrylic immersion demonstration tank with synthetic hydrocarbon dielectric fluid, brazed plate heat exchanger, and external dry cooler for hands-on thermal profiling.

Safety & Operational Standards

Strict ESD & High-Voltage Protocols

All activities in our Dawson facility comply with Australian workplace health and safety (WHS) legislation. Workbenches are fully ESD-grounded, and high-current 12V busbar testing is conducted with isolated DC power supplies equipped with fast-acting current limiting.

Students are provided with personal ESD wristbands, protective eyewear, and heat-resistant silicone mats during all soldering and thermal reflow practical sessions.
